AP WORLD HISTORY: MODERN
AP World History: Modern ("WHAP Modern") is Pittsford newest Social Studies AP course. It is designed to give students a more detailed survey of Global History than the standard Regents course. It is also, for most, the only AP offered to Sophomores in Pittsford. The AP World History: Modern Summer Prep Course, taught by SHS teacher Paul LeVan, will walk students through all of the skills necessary for success in WHAP: Modern. They'll learn and practice all parts of the AP Exam, practice writing and analyzing essays, gain a full understanding of the AP rubrics, practice public speaking, participate in a mock Seminar, and more.

AP U.S. HISTORY
The design of this course is to help with the transition from Global Studies 10 or AP World History: Modern to AP U.S. History ("APUSH"), which was updated by the College Board in 2023. While this can be a difficult transition to make, this course will clarify the expectations and teach many of the basic skills which students will need to find success in AP U.S. History. Taught by Sutherland High School veteran APUSH teacher Marc Hellems, this course will give students an overview of the class, teach them the basics of proper writing at the AP level, prepare them for the AP exam in May 2027 by teaching various test prep skills, and more. This class will also include a Summer Work component so students can get help with the assignments that are to be completed during the summer and due in the fall.
